Pleurodonte excellens is the biggest member of the genus Pleurodonte. We can determine this species by black flattened shell. Colour of the body is almost black with sides turning to orange colour. Tentacles are distinctively striped black and white. Breeding is not complicated but it is better to move clutch to separated box as adults tend to eat it. As in other species of the genus Plurodonte or Caracolus they prefer green diet (lettuce, cucumber) and also fruits.
